  • If you're going to Amber Retreat (the "Yellow" cottage), turn right.

Amber Retreat

Amber Retreat is in Durrell Twillingate.  Turn right onto Main Street towards Durrell and continue on this road almost to its end at French Beach (4.3 kms).

You'll pass Auk Island Winery, the turn-off sign for Durrell Museum, Foodex store, Durrell Dental Clinic, a small wharf with an ornate red sail boat on the jetty.

From here the road winds a few more times. When you see a second wharf on the left, you'll have the turn-off to Slades Lane on your right. It is also the road to the Spillar's Cove hike.

Turn right and about 100 meters further you'll see the yellow saltbox house with its Amber Retreat signage on the front deck railing.
