Amber Retreat & Above The Tickle, Twillingate, Newfoundland

Did you know ...

The third week in July is Fish, Fun and Folk Festival Week in Twillingate.

Boat Tours

As you enter Twillingate, you cannot miss the many boat tour signs competing with each other to show you a close-up view of icebergs and whales that abound in waters of Notre Dame Bay.

No visit to Twillingate is complete without a boat tour. Tours operate from their respective wharfs on Main Street and are well marked.

A boat tour will also reveal the startling contrast between rugged coastline and the reflection of many small islands mirrored in the calm water that surround them. Look out for humpbacks, fins, minkes, dolphins, and pilot whales. Harp seals may also be seen in late May, June, or early July. Birds to be seen include murres, sea gulls, black guillemot, terns, shearwaters, and puffins.
